Jennifer: We first met at a mutual friends mothers memorial (Yes he was busy googley eyeing me instead of focusing on the cause). I didn't like him at first because I went to the drink table, reached out for a drink then he reached out for the same drink. I was thinking, what happened of being a gentleman and allowing me to take the drink first. I pretended I didn't want that drink anymore (which I really did) and instead reached for some water. He offered to pass me some but there was only sparkling left so I said it's okay. He then asked if I was sure I didn't want some of the drink in his hand and he gazed into my eyes. Reluctantly I gave in as I was thirsty (it was a hot day) and he poured the drink into my cup and constantly gazed in my eyes. This was the first time I'd ever had eye contact with someone for so long I was really convinced he was a weirdo- but he had a beautiful smile. Roughly two days after the memorial, I got a message from our mutual friend saying that he's inviting me to a BBQ at his house that weekend. I accepted the invitation and went for the BBQ. After I left the BBQ (I left early as, in my opinion, a woman should never look desperate) he messaged me to find out if I got home safe. We talked back and forth via text and stayed on the phone for hours for a few days and he asked me out on a date, surprised me with some Arsenal football match tickets and I accepted. The date was lovely he cooked for me and was very careful with ingredients as I'm allergic to a lot of things. The rest is history and in the making. He's my best friend and soul mate and couldn't ask for a better life partner
